Our personalities make us the person that we are, and they are they crayons that color us all a different color and make us interesting. Some people are naturally funny and have a gift for telling jokes while some people find that they aren't the amusing ones, but they particularly love to laugh. There are those who have terrible tempers, and those who are complete push-overs. People can be stuck-up, generous, perfectionist, narcissistic, self-loathing, careless, reserved, dim, brilliant, or any other combination of things that make people, well, people. These things are good starting points when developing a character, and combinations of them help you to shape a personality and make a character individual. Two characters who are in Kaleid for the exact same thing and have the exact same problems can be made completely different through the simple use of personality.
Usually, people do not seek help when they have a personality disorder, because they do not realize that it is a disorder at all, so using one of things can be extremely interesting and unusual if it is played correctly. Most of the time a personality disorder is the underlying issue behind some of the more obvious ones, such as; insomnia, panic attacks, depression, anxiety, or restlessness. Often these personality disorders can be the gateway to further problems that your character have to deal with. Keep in mind that everything here is actual information about REAL personality disorders, so when playing them try not to offend out of character players who have these problems. Here is a list of some personality disorders:
[/li][li]Narcissistic PD:[/i] These people are very opposite of Avoidants, being that they have a very high opinion of themselves. They believe themselves to be better than others, and hold such a high opinion of themselves that they believe only those on their level of greatness should be able to associate with them, and only they could understand them. Narcissistic people believe that they deserve special treatment and entitlement only because of who they are and not because they have done anything to earn it. Mostly they are ignorant to the feelings of others and their main goal is to achieve status. Very often these types will try to take advantage of those they feel are lesser than them to get what they want. Sometimes they are envious of those they feel have something they don't, or they believe that others are jealous of them and their greatness.
[/li][li]Obssesive Compulsive PD: These people strive for perfection in themselves and their environments, and mostly anything that they do. Usually they are stingy, inflexible, and focus completely on what they are working on and rarely believe that they have time for recreational activities. It is common that they refuse to throw away anything even if it has no significant meaning to them and is completely useless. Often they have very strict morals, and feel that they have little time for friendships.
[/li][li]Schizoid PD: Is rather simplified, lack of emotion and and social standing. Schizoids prefer to do things alone and do not care for friends or social situations. Their personalities are usually cold and empty. Criticism doesn't bother them, and they also don't care for compliments or praises. To put it simply, they just don't give a shit. These people get pleasure from very very few activities and HAVE VERY LITTLE INTEREST IN SEXUAL ACTIVITIES. If you choose to play this type of character, don't bang everything in site, its uncharacteristic.
[/li][li]Paranoid PD:[/B] These people do not trust others, and they are suspicious of nearly everything and everybody. They pull hidden threats and put-downs in things that others say. Usually they are reluctant to confide in others and they hold grudges for long periods of time. Paranoid people believe everyone wants to attack them or ruin their character. Others usually don't understand the attitude of a paranoid person. If these types do decide to date, usually they believe that their partner is unfaithful.
[/li][li]Schizotypal PD: Are very similar to those who are paranoid, but they are more unusual and eccentric. They are uncomfortable and anxious in social situations because of their extreme paranoia and distrust of the others around them. Often times their speech and behavior is peculiar and their distrust keeps them from having many friends. When alone they feel as if people are talking behind their backs and they think that strangers take a particular interest in them. When they hear noises they tend to think that they are voices, and when they see shadows they think that they are people. Many of them believe in the unusual such as ESP, magic, hexes, telepathy, supernatural powers, superstitions, and their behavior is influenced by their beliefs.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

[/i] This type of character would be shy or quiet, with almost no self-esteem. Typically an Avoidant person is exceedingly sensitive to rejection and criticism, and has difficulty getting along with others and making friends. For the most part they find themselves shying away from social situations and any limelight because they fear what others will think of them and they believe themselves to be boring and out of place. When I say they fear criticism, I mean it. These kinds of characters will often find that their fear gets in the way of their advancement in life, and they are very rarely risk-takers.
